yoga classes

We are a family-operated Hatha yoga school committed to enriching the lives of its students. Our systems-based approach to yoga is grounded in tradition, but takes advantage of modern knowledge about anatomy and physiology. Our style combines the alignment principles of Iyengar yoga with the energetic principles of Ashtanga yoga.

light therapy

We're not called Studio Red Yoga for no reason! We are Australia's first red light therapy yoga studio. Directly above each mat hangs a Mitogen light therapy device. Light therapy, or PhotoBioModulation, has many clinically-proven effects. It heals and repairs the skin, reduces inflammation and pain, increases wound healing, restores energy production and more!

Small groups

With a maximum of 10 students per class, you're getting a semi-private session every time you come to practice, allowing you to learn and progress quickly. Every student gets a huge, square Manduka yoga mat, and props to support you when needed. Your individual needs are a high priority to us, and we look forward to welcoming you to our community.

who are we?

We are a family-operated yoga studio new to Sydney's Inner West.

Always in pursuit of a healthy and active lifestyle, we found yoga 12 years ago and discovered a movement practice that is holistic and works with intelligence to nourish, nurture, strengthen and purify the body, and create a calm and focused mind.

We quickly became passionate for this practice. And since becoming Knoff Yoga teachers, have taught many thousands of hours of yoga across the years in our yoga studio in Sydney's south.

It was around 12 months ago that we came across light therapy in the pursuit of healing chronic fatigue syndrome. We purchased a red light therapy set up for our home and started using it daily to increase energy, reduce muscle pain, improve sleep, and more.

We started using it during our yoga practices, and with our students during yoga. We knew we had made a great discovery, and the idea for Studio Red Yoga was born.

We started looking for the best red light devices to use in our studio. That's when we came across Mitogen, a full-body red light therapy device with proven wavelengths and the correct output for achieving the many health benefits of red and infrared light.

Now we bring this quirky, but totally amazing combination of yoga and red light therapy to our beautiful Leichhardt studio.

We are passionate, dedicated, and honest people who care about providing a great service to our students, and helping as many people as we can through the path of yoga.

What do we do?

There are so many different styles of yoga out there, it can get confusing when you're trying to pick one that suits you! What sets us apart is that we teach a strong, alignment-based practice. We identify and correct postural imbalances. We use the yoga practice to be healthy in body and mind. The practice creates equal strength and flexibility, so be prepared to work hard, and learn more about how your body functions. It's not always easy, but it is worth it.

Who can come?

You don't have to be able to touch your toes, or be a certain age, or have a certain body shape to get started in yoga. We have the training and experience to teach total-beginners, to advanced practitioners, and everything in between. We teach chair yoga for those who can't easily get up and down off the floor. We teach pregnant women, sometimes right up until the very day they give birth. We teach children as young as 6, helping them to be healthy and calm, and have some fun on the way. We teach athletes to help them recover and avoid injuries, and keep their bodies fighting fit.
